Fried Ice Cream

Fun to make. Fun to eat.


  1. Scoop Ice cream into large balls and shape into large balls and roll in the plain flour and place onto a large flat tray covered with baking paper and freeze for 4 hours.
  2. Roll balls one at a time in the combined egg and milk mixture and roll in the fresh breadcrumbs and press firmly. Repeat process to double crumb and then freeze for a further 4 hours.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer and fry Bulla Ice cream balls one at a time until golden, drain on absorbent paper. Repeat with remaining Ice Cream balls.
  4. Serve immediately in individual serving bowls with caramel topping.
Fried Ice Cream


  • 2 x litres Bulla Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 cups fresh bread crumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • Caramel syrup to serve

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 8
